Ralphie Smooth's Bio

Smooth first found interest in electronic music in 1998. He was first introduced to the underground scene in 1999 at the age of 16. At the time, the tri state scene was in full effect and Smooth was instantly a regular at all the local parties. His inpiration to be a disc jockey was heavily influenced by dj's such as Bad Boy Bill, CZR, Angel Alanis, just to name a few.

Smooth purchased his first set of turntables in the summer of 1999 and has since dedicated a large portion of his time practicing mixing and building a substantial vinyl library. A big influence in this was the opening of Scratch n Spin Records on 4/20/00 in his home town of Hillsborough, NJ. Smooth instantly got involved in the record store and began to get serious about djing. Smooth has since dedicated his time to mixing and networking with different dj's and labels.

Ralphie Smooth has played in places such as Club Krome in Sayerville, Club Envy in Philly and has now been djing at Club Exit in NYC since August of this year. Starting off playing in the VIP and red room, Smooth got his first taste of glory on Nov. 2nd hitting the main floor with full force. Currently, Ralphie Smooth can be seen every Friday and Saturday at Club Exit.
